The light in the south of France seems to make everything more beautiful. This road in St Remy leads to Chateau Roussan. It has a long history, but is now a place for travelers to rest. If ever in this part of the world stop here. I set up looking away from the chateau, and down long road with the tallest old sycamore trees. Someone said they were planted for shade for the soldiers of Napolean. I tried to capture this morning light as it hit the field of grass and came shining through the trees on a 9x12 panel. After I got home I used that panel to do this piece on a larger canvas.
